Q
What languages do you speak?

When it comes to finding a property for sale, or long and mid term rentals in Barcelona, having someone that understands your needs and can speak your language is of paramount importance. Our small, multicultural team speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and Russian for your convenience.

Q
How easy is it to buy a property in Barcelona?

Buying a property in Barcelona does require some research and planning, but with ChicRoom Properties, you can enjoy a stress-free property buying process. We can guide you through required documentation from the Registro de la Propiedad, issues of taxation, legal requirements, the difference between a pre-contract and final contract, and other important items on your purchasing checklist. Our local knowledge of the areas and real estate agents along with our understanding of Spanish laws and buying requirements makes us an ideal choice for ex-pats looking to acquire property in Barcelona.

Q
Do I have to pay a damage deposit?

It is not uncommon for long and mid term rentals in Barcelona to require a damage deposit, but this depends on the property and the landlord.

Q
Who holds the damage deposit?

Once ChicRoom Properties connects you to a landlord, you are responsible for dealing directly with them. As such, you will sign a private contract with the landlord/property owner, and they will hold onto your deposit for the duration of your tenancy. The decision to refund or not refund the deposit lies with them, and depends on the condition of the property once the tenancy is completed and the keys have been handed back. Please note that ChicRoom Properties does not hold onto any damage deposits.

Q
Do I book mid term and long term rentals in Barcelona directly with ChicRoom Properties?

No, all bookings are made directly with the landlord. Once you have signed your lease, you deal exclusively with the landlord for any issues of maintenance and repairs, and lease renewals/end of tenancy. It is up to you to maintain a positive relationship with your landlord, but in the event that there is an issue, ChicRoom Properties can act as an intermediary to resolve the situation.
